Each qualifier will consist of Sixty Four (64) competitors that will play in a single elimination tournament until a single winner is determined.

An application selection process will be conducted by the Tournament Committee to determine the invite list for each tournament. Sixty Four (64) competitors will be selected and contacted with an invitation to participate through their Twitter Direct Messages for each individual qualifier tournament.

To be eligible for selection and participate in any of the qualifier tournaments, you must 18+ and each competitor must fill out the Registration Application.

QUALIFIER TOURNAMENT COMMUNICATION

All tournament invitations will be distributed through Twitter Direct Messages. Competitors need to ensure their settings are set to receive messages or follow JumpOff on Twitter to receive the invitation.

Each qualifier will have a dedicated Discord server in which all tournament communication will take place. Server invite links will be provided upon the acceptance of each tournament invitation.

A member of the tournament administration team will be present in each Discord server to ensure there is a direct line of communication for any issues that may arise during a tournament event.

The Discord server will also serve as the initial  tournament check in location. Attendance in the discord server is mandatory for all qualifier events for the duration of the tournament.

Competitors who fail to check-in on time for their match may be disqualified at the discretion of the tournament administration team.

Battlefy.com will be the host platform for each of the qualifier tournaments. Competitors will enter the final score of each game. Any score disputes must be immediately brought to the attention of the tournament administrators in the discord.

TOURNAMENT RULES AND SETTINGS

Madden Ultimate Team (MUT) Qualifier Tournaments

All games will be played using the H2H Competitive PAF tab which can be found under the Play A Friend menu in Madden Ultimate Team .

Game settings are automatically set in the H2H Competitive PAF tab and will be used for all games.

The competitor that has the best seeding in the matchup will be the host of the game and invite the opponent using the correct H2H Competitive PAF option.

There are no restrictions for playbooks or uniforms. Competitors may agree to a restart immediately following the opening kickoff if uniforms are too close in color. If there is a difference of opinion amongst competitors, a tournament administrator will make the ruling if a change is needed.

Lineups will be set by locking in your team prior to the start of the tournament in the H2H Competitive PAF tab. No changes will be allowed to your roster after you have loaded into a game and have seen your opponent’s lineup. This rule also applies in the event of a disconnection in the game in which a restart occurs.

Lineups will restrict the use of the Film Study ability and  any X Factor that starts activated. This is to include passive X Factors that are in a special ability bucket (ex. Gronkowski – Vanguard, Stabler – Run and Gun). Any Player Cards that are associated with these style abilities are able to be used as long as they are not equipped with an ability that starts activated.

Regular H2H Qualifier Tournaments

All games will be played using the following settings:

  • Difficulty: All Madden
  • Quarter Length: 5 Minutes
  • Accelerated Clock: Off
  • Injuries: Off
  • Team Type: NFL Teams
  • Fatigue: On
  • Even Teams: Off
  • Game Speed: Normal
  • Weather: Off

The competitor that has the best seeding in the matchup will be the host of the game and be the one responsible to invite their opponent with the correct settings.

There will be no use of custom or NFL Live playbooks in the tournament. Each competitor must show their playbook to their opponent prior to the game. Alternate playbooks such as “West Coast” and “Multiple D” are allowed.

Note: Custom playbooks are displayed as “ West Coast” and “Multiple D” in the pre-game match screen. Any competitor that suspects that their opponent is running plays that are not part of those alternate playbooks, must take sufficient visual evidence and report it to a tournament administrator immediately.

GAMEPLAY RULES

Onside kicks are only allowed in the 2nd half of the game. They can only be attempted if you have less points than your opponent does at the time of the attempt.

Intentionally creating an offsides penalty to stop the clock, or in an attempt to try to block a field goal or a punt is prohibited. Determination of the intent will be up to the tournament administrators.

Any attempt to glitch the game in order to gain an advantage is prohibited. Determination of whether a tactic performed in the tournament is a glitch will be at the discretion of the tournament administrators.

The following gameplay glitches are prohibited:

Field Goal Block Glitch: Blocking a field goal or an extra point from any formation that is not under the field goal menu.

Pump Fake Glitch: The use of using a pump fake to cause defenders to not recognize the quarterback when he runs pass the line of scrimmage is prohibited.

Disconnections:

In the event of a disconnection, it is the responsibility of both competitors to reach out to the tournament administrators for a resolution. Tournament administrators will make a decision to either restart the game from the beginning, resume the game from a similar point of the disconnection, or award the win to a competitor, at their discretion.

In the event that a disconnection could have been caused by network connectivity issues, the tournament administrators may make the decision to change the competitor that is hosting the game in an attempt to solve the issue.

Collusion:

Any agreement among two (2) or more competitors to disadvantage other competitors in the tournament is prohibited.

Some examples of behavior that can be considered collusion are as follows:

  • Intentionally losing a game for any reason
  • Playing on behalf of another competitor
  • Any form of soft play in which a competitor intentionally does not take reasonable actions to gain advantages against their opponent during a game.

No Shows:

All competitors are required to check-in to their match at the start of each round of the tournament. Any competitor that fails to check in on time is subject to a forfeit and his opponent will receive the win in the match.

A ten (10) minute grace period will be extended per round for each competitor once the matchup has been generated to check in.

Code of Conduct:

All competitors are expected to show good sportsmanship and maintain respect for one another and for all tournament administrators..

Competitors are expected to play at their best at all times within the tournament and to avoid any behavior inconsistent with the principles of good sportsmanship or fair play.

Any competitor behaving inappropriately, as determined by the tournament administrators, may be immediately disqualified from the tournament.
